The site selected for a new museum does not belong to the City or Brooks. It is protected by an easement and dedicated for use only as a Public Promenade. A private museum is not a Public Promenade and, if built, will block the City from the river and continuation of a greenway along the face of Memphis.

A friend on Facebook pointed out that most people have not seen illustrations of the Brooks/MAM design and requested illustrations. Here are architectural renderings of the 4 sides of the building:

West/River side - along Riverside Dr. between Union and Monroe. (No door on this side of building; railing in illustration is across railroad tracks on west side of Riverside Drive.)

South side - along Union Ave. between Front Str. and Riverside Dr. (No doors or windows on this side of the building.)

North side of building - along Monroe between Front Str. and Riverside Dr. (Garage on lower-level is only entrance on this side of building. Plans call for closing Monroe and converting it to museum driveway from Riverside into museum parking garage.)

East side of building - along Front Str. from Union to Monroe. Entrance in center, cafe on the right, gift shop on left. Mezzanine level appears to be for a theater. Rectangle on roof is for electronic signage, not yet submitted.
